The 26 August is the feast day of St Mariam of Jesus Crucified . On this day, Carmelites around the world the also celebrate the Transverberation (or Transpierecing of the Heart) of St. Teresa of Avila, the great saint who reformed the Carmelite order. Centuries later, Mariam received the same grace from God.

This is a first class relic of a bandage that was placed on Mariam’s heart after she experieced the transverberation of the heart. The blood stains made up the imprint of the cross and the letters O, J, S ‘O Jésus Sauveur’ (O Jesus Saviour).
